Search changed.

For a decade, marketing teams optimized for Google. Rankings, backlinks, page speed. It worked. Then AI changed how buyers discover products. When someone asks ChatGPT to recommend a tool, your ranking doesn’t matter. Your citability does.

Websites are still built for Google. AI systems read them differently.

When AI answers a query, it doesn’t check your domain authority. It evaluates whether it can extract your content, resolve your brand as an entity, and trust your positioning. Most Webflow SaaS sites fail all three, not because the product is bad, but because the website was never structured to be understood.
